Punjab Police Recruitment 2016 Eligibility Criteria:-

Eligibility: – Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) from a recognized university or institute.
OR Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) from a recognized university or institute.
OR Bachelor of Computer Science/ Electronics & Communication/ Information Technology Software Engineering from a recognized board or institute.
OR Graduate Degree in any stream from recognized university or institute.
And ‘A’ level Computer Course or above from NIELIT/ DOEACC.
OR Post graduate diploma/ Post graduate in Computer Application/ Information Technology from recognized university or institute.
Pay scale: – Rs 10300-34800 plus grade pay 4600 per month.
Age limit: – The minimum age for recruitment at the rank of Sub Inspector (SI) should be 18 years and maximum age should be 28 years as on 01 January 2016.
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes would be entitled to a relaxation in the upper age limit to the extent of 5 years over and above the above-mentioned upper age limit (28 years).
  • Ex-Servicemen shall be given relaxation in the upper age limit by 3 years, plus the number of years of service, rendered in the Indian Defense Forces.
Note: – The candidate must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
Application fee: – Candidates pay a non refundable application fee of Rs 400 by through online mode using net banking or credit card or debit card or challan form.
SC, ST and BC categories candidates are pay application fee of Rs 100 only.
Ex-Servicemen categories candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

Punjab Police Recruitment Sub Inspector Selection Process:-

Selection process: – Candidates will be selected on the basis of preliminary medical test/ drug test/ dope test, Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), written Test and interview. Only candidates who clear the PST and PET will be called for written test.
Physical standards test: – Only those candidates who are found to fulfill the requisite minimum and maximum age and educational qualifications shall be screened for height.
  • Height for male candidates – Minimum height required 5 feet 5 inches.
  • Height for female candidates – Minimum height required 5 feet 1 inches.
Physical efficiency test: – The candidates shall be required to appear in the Physical efficiency Test, which shall be of a qualifying nature and shall comprise of the following events:
  • Race – 800 meters Race to be completed in 4 minutes for male candidates and 400 meters Race to be completed in 2 minutes for female candidates.
  • Long Jump – 9 feet for male candidates and 6 feet for female candidates.
  • High Jump – 3 feet for male candidates and 2½ feet for female candidates.
Written test: – A computer-based written paper (Questions displayed on computer and answers typed on computer) or OMR sheet based test in English medium will be of 100 marks consisting of multiple choice questions. The break-up of marks for written examination is as follows:-
  • Part-I (25 marks) – Questions will be from General Knowledge, Current Affairs, History, Geography, Polity of India and Environmental Science.
  • Part II (25 marks) – Questions will be from Test of Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude & Reading Comprehension.
  • Part III (50 marks) – Questions will be from syllabi as enumerated below for each of three categories.
