  Punjab Police has issued a notification for the recruitment of 7416 Constable (Male & Female) Vacancies in District Police Cadre and Armed Police Cadre on direct recruitment basis. Eligible candidates may apply online application from 31 May 2016 to 21 June 2016. Punjab Police Constable Recruitment 2016 Eligibility Criteria:-

Eligibility: – The minimum eligibility criteria shall be 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized education board.
Note: – Candidate must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
Pay scale: – Rs 10300-34800 plus grade pay 3200 per month.
Age limit: – The minimum age for recruitment at the rank of constable should be 18 years and maximum age should be 28 years as on 01 January 2016.
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes would be entitled to a relaxation in the upper age limit to the extent of 5 years over and above the above-mentioned upper age limit (28 years).
  • Ex-Servicemen shall be given relaxation in the upper age limit by 3 years, plus the number of years of service, rendered in the Indian Defense Forces.
Application fee for Punjab Police Recruitment: – Candidates pay a non refundable application fee of Rs 400 by through online mode using net banking or credit card or debit card or challan form.
SC, ST and BC categories candidates are pay application fee of Rs 100 only.
Ex-Servicemen categories candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

Punjab Police Constable Recruitment 2016 Selection Process:-

Selection process: – Candidates will be selected on the basis of Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Screening Test (PST) and Interview-cum-Personality Test. Only candidates who clear the PMT and PST will be called for interview on the statewide merit list.
Physical standards test: – Only those candidates who are found to fulfill the requisite minimum and maximum age and educational qualifications shall be screened for height.
  • Height for male candidates – Minimum height required 5 feet 7 inches.
  • Height for female candidates – Minimum height required 5 feet 3 inches.
Physical screening test: – The candidates shall be required to appear in the Physical Screening Test, which shall be of a qualifying nature and shall comprise of the following events:
  • Race – 1600 meters Race to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds for male candidates and 800 meters Race to be completed in 4 minutes for female candidates.
  • Long Jump –80 meters for male candidates and 3 meters for female candidates.
  • High Jump –10 meters for male candidates and 0.95 meters for female candidates.
Interview–cum–personality test: – From amongst the candidates who qualify the Physical Measurements and the Physical Screening Test, each Range/ Zonal/ Commissioner ate Recruitment Board will draw up a Preliminary Merit List, separately for the District Police Cadre and Armed Police Cadre, on the basis of the Marks obtained by the candidates in the Height measurement and the Educational qualifications (30 Marks). The Interview-cum-Personality Test shall be of 04 marks.
